This prayer thread is a great idea. This week has been so sad and unbelievable. My prayers and thoughts go out to the families who were devastated by the tragic events at Virginia Tech.
Praying for you both Marty and Stan. God bless you. Words are inadequate in circumstances like this.
Also praying for both Bobs and anyone else who is hurting or in need of employment. God knows your pain and your individual needs at this time.
We can always put our trust in the great physician and comforter. He knows what we need before we even ask. God bless.

Good evening everyone,

I am posting this from the hospital while Marti has her girlfriends visiting--she kicked me out of the room.(smiley)

I am happy to report that the great world wide prayer circle is having a blessed effect on Marti and me. I really do feel lifted up by the intercession of the saints.

Today, it was looking very bleak, but tonight her mind has cleared significantly, and she is acting very feisty and upset at me-(good sign)

Her repeat CT scan of the brain shows less swelling. It looks like she may be transferred to rehab tomorrow.

Thanks again everyone for all your prayers.

Stan,

Praise the Lord! I had replies from several of my friends today, assuring me that they are indeed praying for Marti.

I am keeping all of them updated on Marti’s progress, and urging them to keep praying!

Stan, that is tremendous news!  Now I’ll specifically pray for Marti to be even more feisty, since it is such a good sign!

Thank you Lord, for giving us a glimpse of your mercy.  May we never forget that each day is precious and a gift from You.

Stan, Bob, and Guibox:

My prayers are certainly with all of you.

Stan,

This is terrific news about Marti, but I’ll continue to pray for the both of you during this process.

Hope to see you while I’m out here in SoCal if there’s ever a time you can get away for just a bit.

Aaron,

Call me whenever you might have some free time. I will try to make time to meet if possible. You have my numbers.

Thanks everyone for all your prayers. This will be a long road to recovery, and will be somewhat unpredictable, but what is predictable is the promise that we will not be forsaken as we take this long journey together. God is faithful.

Another wonderful answer to all your prayers occurred today:

Marti was accepted into acute stroke rehabilitation at a top rated hospital, and she will have some of the same therapists that she had during her first stroke.

At first they said she would likely not qualify, but her condition has improved where she now qualifies. I will be taking her there tonight.

Praise the Lord for His continued grace, and our gratitude goes out for the prayers. At least we are now in the first stage of the recovery process.

Stan

I have a daughter-in-law in physical therapy, I have a daughter who is Associate Dean of Allied Health Sciences, I have two nieces in Physical therapy. They all tell me, that stroke rehab. has come a long way. They have great hope that Marti will recovery a great percentage of full use.

We pray to that end.

Stan, you and Marti remain in our prayers and thank you for keeping us updated.  We can take comfort in God’s sovereignty and mercy in every situation.  In times like this, I am comforted by our God who put on human flesh and suffered more than anyone before or since.  He knows our pain, because he experienced it Himself.

Hey all,

I’m having two wisdom teeth taken out tomorrow. They’ll be putting me under general anethesia (my first). The surgery is expected to be short, but I’ve no doubt the recovery will be painful.

Thanks

Glenn, I got all four of my wisdom teeth taken out at once. They knocked me out for mine and it was like I fell asleep and woke up minutes later.

I had minimal swelling, virtually no bleeding and I was back at work within two days (and I believe I could have gone to work the very next day)

Of course my wife got hers taken out years ago and wasn’t put under. From what she told me, sh looked like a chipmunk on steroids and was so black and blue that she looked like she went a few rounds with Mike Tyson without the gloves on.

Oops..I guess you really didn’t need to hear that did you?

I’ll pray that your ordeal was more like mine than my wife’s. wink
