To enable easier administration and updating of the site, I have moved to a new software platform.  There are a number of advantages to the new software.  To name just one, now any references to Bible texts will automatically be linked to an online Bible.  Here is an example: John 3:16

All of the old posts have been carried over to the new site, but you will notice the timestamps may be different than on the old site.  I will post some tutorials on how to use the functions of this new site over time.  Until then, if there are any questions, post them as replies to this thread.

Thanks Bob! There are still a few things I’m working on, but the basic structure of the site is set.

Another new feature is the box on the right side for blog feeds. I’ve added several blogs to the list and will be adding more as I find them. Any suggested additions are welcome.

Greg, I don’t see a “logout” button.  Maybe it isn’t necessary.

Bob,

There is a log out link at the bottom of the user box (blue box on the right, second from the top labeled with your username). Logging out is probably unnecessary unless you are using a shared/public computer.

Incidentally, there are other interesting features of the user box.  You can send and receive private messages to other users through your inbox, change your personal information in the “my account” section (even designating your church affiliation, location, etc.), check our “news aggregator” and look for replies to recent posts.

As time permits, I will post some tutorials explaining how to use all of these features.

I just fixed a problem with positioning of the boxes on the right with Internet Explorer.  They were not being displayed correctly on the right side of the page, but appear to be working now with Internet Explorer 6.0.

Greg,

I am just getting acquainted with the new format. You have really hit a home run on this design.

I think the automatic links to the scriptures quoted in ESV is such a great idea. It saves having to either look it up in the bible or go off line to another scripture search site.

I believe the Lord will use this site for His eternal honor and glory.

Stan,

Thanks for your feedback.  I pray that the gospel of Jesus Christ will be presented with clarity here, and that he will be at the center of everything we do.

There is a new “user profile” link in the user box on the right that allows you to view and update your personal information, including geographic location, Adventist affiliation and current denomination affiliation.

There is now a box on the right side for four different daily Bible reading plans.  These links point to a different set of texts each day and will guide your reading through the entire Bible in one year’s time.  For more information about the different options, see this page: http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/devotions/

I just pray that the good that this site is doing will not be tainted in any way. God willing many people, especially the Adventist family will be led to know the Jesus Christ of the bible.

Phen, thank you for your prayers.  I share your heart for our Adventist friends and family.

It is my prayer that Jesus Christ will continue to be the reason for everything we do here.  May His name be glorified, and His purposes be put before our own.  May a pursuit of His righteousness overwhelm our own egos and desire to win arguments or command respect.  I pray that His gospel will be faithfully communicated and that we will heed the promptings of the Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth (John 16:13).

May our lives demonstrate the truth of Romans 15:1-7,
