Stan,

We appreciate the update on Marti’s condition and progress.  We have kept you both in our prayers and shall continue.

In reading Rev. 5:8 yesterday as part of the worship service I was caught by a word picture that seems so precious to me, although it is figurative languabe, it is
still a beautiful picture.  I refer to the ‘golden bowls full of incense, which are the prpayers of the saints.”
These are pictured being offered to the Lamb of God.  I just
thought it a precious mental picture of having our prayers, Marti’s prayers, in a golden bowl, being offered to Jesus.

Something in that figurative language struck me as being so beautiful, I wanted to share it with you and Marti.

God bless,

Jess & Bonnie

Guibox,

I’m so sorry to hear of you and your friend’s family’s loss.  I’ll be praying for all of you.

Stan,

The way you and Marti are looking at and handling these circumstances is nothing short of inspiring.  The next time my wife asks me to help her by taking out the trash or doing the dishes I’ll think twice before rolling my eyes.smile May the Lord bless you both spiritually and physically.

Hi everyone,

We continue to praise God for His sustaining grace through this very difficult time. Marti is fighting back gamely, and is gradually regaining her strength. She is eating much better now. She still requires total care in the activities of daily living, and this keeps me very busy, and off line while I am at home.

However, the very best news has to do with her spiritual healing. She is praying the most beautiful prayers at night before she goes to bed. Just to hear these prayers from someone who until recently wasn’t really interested in the things of God, brings tears to my eyes, and also to one of her Christian friend’s eyes as well. She continues to pray that through this terrible illness, that her life will be a testimony to God’s grace, and if healed physically, she is promising to be a witness to God’s power.

My own faith has been strengthened as we go through this trial. God has given me a heart to want to care for her even though at times it is very frustrating and trying on my patience to take care of someone so disabled. But God’s grace is sufficient and His presence is felt in a special way.

It is so comforting to know that God is in total control of these circumstances, and He will work this out for His own glory.

We don’t know what the future holds for us as we go through this trial together, but we do know WHO holds the future, and because Christ lives, we can face tomorrow.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Stan

Dear Stan,
Thanks for the update on Marti.  I am sure your heart swells when she prays and talks of how God has taken care of her.
It is not easy on you, but God is sustaining both of you at this time.
I do continue to pray for both of you.

Hi everyone,

It has been awhile since I updated Marti’s condition. Her progress is really remarkable. She has kept the faith and her optimism. She is getting stronger every day. It is quite remarkable that even though she had six stroke like episodes since April, it has now been three months since her last stroke. She has been home almost two months.

On Labor day weekend she was not able to swallow food, or even sit up in a chair. She is now eating well, and climbing stairs.

God even worked out circumstances that at first seemed unfortunate. Our new puppy chewed up her glasses. But because the dog did this, it promted an eye evaluation where she now has new glasses, and her vision is much better, even though she is practically blind, she can see some things much better.

On this Thanksgiveing day, we are very thankful how God has worked through many circumstances. Marti is well enough to go to our timeshare in Lake Tahoe, and we are leaving tomorrow.

I am also thankful for the privilege of taking care of her. There is no greater reward than taking care of someone who cannot still do a lot of things for themselves. She is very appreciative for the care she gets, and best of all, she is thanking God every night for His many blessings to her even in these circumstances.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Stan

Hi everyone,

Again I appreciate everyone’s prayers for my wife Marti. God is indeed faithful. It has been awhile since I posted an update on her condition. I am pleased to report that she continues to make steady albeit slow progress in her physical condition. She is starting to see better, and she enjoys watching the political debates, and she especially likes Mike Huckabee (Go Mike!). She is even able to enjoy her favorite TV sport of ice skating.

But above all miracles is the new birth in Christ she has experienced. She continues to get stronger in the faith, and even asks me to read to her from the Bible.

God has also sustained me through this time of incredible change in my life, as I have adjusted fo being her nighttime and weekend caregiver. This is a ministry God has called me to at this particular time, and I am being blessed tremendously with this privilege. At first it seemed like a burden, but I no longer see it that way.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Stan

Stan, thank you for the update.

Say hi to Marti for me, and I continue to pray for both of you during this challenging time in your lives.

I am envious and encouraged by the strength and courage you both have shown. Praise God for giving you both the will to take it one day at a time and find the good in each day.

God Bless,

Randy

Life is easy...

“when you’re up on the mountain.  You’ve got peace of mind like you’ve never known.  How things change when you’re down in the valley.  We talk about faith and talk comes so easy when life is at its best, but when things go wrong, He’ll make them right.  For you are never alone. The God on the mountain is still God in the valley.  The God of the good times is still God in the bad times.  The God of the day is still God in the night.”

Brothers and Sisters, please welcome Lynda Randle!

Hi again everyone,

Thanks again for all your prayers for my wife Marti.

She continues to make remarkable progress with no more strokes since last August. She came home from rehab 9/28/07, and has been home ever since.  Her progress is slow but steady, and we seee encouraging signs of progress. She is still totally dependent with respect to ADLs, but progress is being made.

More importantly, I am pleased to report that her spiritual progress is truly remarkable. Her conversion has been truly genuine, and her love for the Lord continues to grow. She prays the sweetest prayers out loud, and prays for people she formerly had reasons to not like.  God has worked miraculously in her life.

When Jesus told his disciples that there would be greater miracles than just physical healings, He was referring to spiritual healings. When a person who is spiritually dead is raised to life by God, and growth occurs, then this kind of healing and resurrection is so much greater a miracle than any physical healing could ever be.

We continue to praise God for sustaining us spiritually as well as physically and financially through these troubling times.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Stan
