Glennspring:

Be careful with that salt water. Unless the surgeon placed sutures. The socket where the tooth was removed is open to the oral cavity. Rinsing can removed the clot that formed as the first stage of healing by “secondary intent” If that clot is dislodged, you could get a “dry socket” which is very painful and smelly.  The treatment is a lengthy routine of having the socket packed with medicated gauze.
About a six week travail. TJZ

Stan, thank-you for sharing the optimistic news. It is good to hear that progress is continuing to be made, and Marti is doing better than we first thought. Our prayers continue to be with you both.

Stan,

This is terrific news about Marti and I rejoice with you even though she still has a long road ahead of her with rehabiliation. Please let her know that we’re all still praying for her (and you!).  God is good.

Thanks everyone for your prayers.

Aaron, it was great meeting you in person while you were in SoCal, and glad to see you got home safely.

To keep you all informed . . . I have not yet found work, but every day I praise the Lord and thank Him that He will make a way for me in His own time.  It is enough to know that He will never leave me nor forsake me.

I had a good interview last Thursday morning with the president of a company in San Bernardino.  He disclosed during our interview that he is a Christian. (I had not mentioned religion, but I think “Spirit spoke to spirit” and he sensed that I was also.) They are still considering me for the position. However, I have put the matter of my employment in God’s hands.  I do not want to be any place other than where He directs me!

Keep praying for me.  I appreciate your support more than I can express.

That is hopeful Bobh. In fact, for him to volunteer the information is quite remarkable, and hopefully he is impressed to provide his brother in Christ a job.

Stan and Bob, and all,

I have been reading/studying considerable on the sovereignty of God lately.  It is such an awesome subject.  One feels like removing your shoes before you approach it each day.

Stan and Bob, my own physical problems seem so small compared to the flames of the firey trials you are enduring now.  God IS IN CONTROL.  TOTAL CONTROL.  He knows exactly your pain, your fears, your apprehension, anxiety, pain......HE KNOWS.  His PURPOSE “IS” being worked out right now where you are concerned.  And where Marti is concenred, Stan.

Our faith is NOT the saving factor.......GOD is THAT !
Keep clinging to Him!  In the darkness, when all is fear,
just cling to the encircling arms of your FATHER, and know
you are being caried by HIM.

We keep praying for you and yours,

Jess

Thank you my dear brother Jess! I needed the encouragement tonight. Marti is still practically blind, and will need a lot of care and supervision in the days to come. God has provided a potential caregiver who I am cheking out, but it looks very good.

Jess, you mention your recent studies in the sovereignty of God--please feel free to share these studies with us. It would be much more difficult going through this present trial if I didn’t believe God was in control of everything, and He uses these trials to bring us closer to Him. I am glad Romans 8:28-38 is still in the Bible.

Bob and Stan, my prayers are still with you.  We are privileged to share in your burdens as your brothers in Christ.  Jess, thanks for sharing your profound words on the comfort we find in God’s sovereignty.

Last week I found out that I would not be allowed to sit for one of my upcoming board exams due to a technicality in the eligibility requirements.  After much prayer and a few letters to the powers-that-be, I have been granted permission to take the examination.

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!” (1 Chronicles 16:34)

Greg, that is wonderful!

Some may accuse me of taking the following text out of its eschatological context, but I think it is applicable here.

“before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Isa. 65:24.

Stan, it happened again.  I was into sharing study notes on God’s sovereignty, and something happened and ZIP.....it
ALL disappeared.  Sorry.

Maybe I’ll find the patience to come back and repeat it.
This is disgusting, to say the least!

Thanks Jess for trying. I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Marti comes home tomorrow from rehab, and she is making some significant gains. She is starting to make out large letters on a page which is improvement.

Praise God for all his many blessings!

Stan

What good news. Imagine seeing large letters but recognizing them. Sight with congnitive function. Only the Doxology will do.  TJZ the Deacon.

Stan, that is great news.  My prayers for you and Marti will continue.

Jess, sorry to hear about the posting problems.  I don’t know what is causing this.  I’ve just created a new thread called “Site Tutorials” where I put the instructions for posting comments and then editing them afterward.  Do you recall at what step your post was lost?

If we don’t get this figured out, you can always send me your post by email and I can post it for you.

Stan, Have to leave to run errands, but read your post out loud and Bonnie rejoices with me over this positive sign of eye-sight improvement with Marti.  Can she ambulate using a walker or does she still require help in transfers and walking?  Please assure her she is in our prayers most earnestly, with always a P.S. attached for Stan. grin

Greg, I was still typing when it happened, so I think the problem this time had to be between the floor and the keyboard!  It happened so fast, I had no idea what caused it.  Everything disappeared.  Now if we believe that everything is under the sovereign control and operation of God, one conclusion would be that I was not supposed to post those thoughts.  (half smile)

Bob, I am still praying for you over your non-employment challenge.  Didn’t you have an interview with a Christian gentleman?  Any changes?

God bless you all.
