This has been a blessed weekend so far. It was quite traumatic to my wife Marti and I to realize that right now she is totally dependent in every way on me and others to show her everything as she is almost completely blinded except for some occasional reading of large print. My priorities have shifted to caring for her, and therefore my time on the computer will be limited at least temporarily.

I was so blessed by Greg coming out to So Cal this weekend, and taking time to have dinner with me on Fri. night. We had a wonderful dinner and a great discussion on God’s sovereignty in all matters. Thanks Greg for being such a great friend, and you have done a magnificent job on this website.

On Sat. night, I dressed Marti up, and took her to a concert starring Crystal Gale performing with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in Costa Mesa. We were both touched at a deep emotinal level when she ended her program with a wonderful medley of Southern gospel tunes. Tears were streaming down my face as the simple message of these songs hit home in a blessed way. I was even more overwhelmed after we got home, when Marti also said she was touched, and she said she started praying during that medley that maybe God would have just one more miracle for her in restoring her site. I believe that God has already worked a miracle at this time in improving her spiritual sight, and we are trusting in His physical healing as well.

Praising God and thanking Him in these circumstances,

Stan

Please continue your prayers for Marti. Unfortunately, I had to take her back to the hospital tonight, and there is real concern that she may have had another stroke. We hope that we can treat this further complication, as there is new hope for neurosurgical correction of her vision in the future.

Indeed Marti has extended her recent stroke from three weeks ago, and she is very weak, and can hardly walk. We are in for a long haul of rehabilitation. She will be undergoing more testing today.

I know God is in control in even these sad sudden turn arounds, and His grace will sustain us.

Thanks for your prayers.

Thanks again everyone for your prayers.

Today held out some slightly more encouraging news. She is starting to see more things, and she was even able to spot my face and glasses tonight which is a first. She did extend her stroke, but now is being fully anticoagulated, and at least the damage has been stopped. She will require about three weeks more of acute rehab, but we are encouraged. I have felt a special presence of the Lord throughout this, and Marti is still making the nurses laugh!

Praise God for all He plans to accomplish through this trial.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Praise God!  I love that she is making the nurses laugh.  What a wonderful spirit He has put into your wife, Stan, which shines even in the face of hard times.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.

Today, even more good news to report. Today, Marti’s eyes were opened to the extent that she could plant a kiss on my lips, and even see my face! I was wearing my white coat doctors uniform, and I was moved to tears of joy even in her small steps of improvement. God is good, and He is sustaining us in a special way, thanks to yopur prayers!

Soli Deo Gloria (To God alone be the glory)
