This morning at church we sang a song we have sung before.  The words of the chorus really struck home.  I do not remember the title of the song and I only wrote the words of the chorus because they are the ones that hit me.

“ I’m living a new life,
a new day, a new song,
a new way,
Everlasting God, draw near.”

While we were singing tears came to my eyes as I sang because I realized that I am living a new life, I have a new song, a new day and a new way and God is with me every day.
To God be all the Glory.  He is so awesome.

Thanks so much Diana for posting those thoughts and that song.

I say the same thing in light of the recent events in our lives. (See the prayer thread)

Soli Deo Gloria (To God Alone be the Glory)

Diana, thank you for sharing the words of that song with us.  Reading those words reminds me of 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

As born-again Christians, God doesn’t ask us to merely follow a new set of doctrines, he gives us new life in Him, creating life out of death and conforming us to His will by the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2).  What’s more, he is able to strengthen us by the gospel and to bring about the “obedience of faith"--"to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ!” (Romans 16:25-27).
