I will be posting some tutorials on this thread about how use certain functions of this site.  Feel free to add questions or comments if anything is unclear.

When posting a comment, it may be easier to simply hit the “Post comment” button instead of previewing the comment before posting.  The “post comment” button looks like this:

After the comment is posted, it can be edited by finding your post and looking at the line underneath it that says “edit”:

After clicking on this, you can then make the appropriate changes and when you are done, hit the post comment button again.

To insert a quote of someone else’s post, you can either hit the “quote” link under their post or copy in the text you’d like to quote and bracket it with tags that look like this:

In the first example, the text will appear as a generic quote and in the second, the person’s name will appear at the top of the quote box.

Heya Greg,

It’s not really on the topic, but I was wondering if you could do something about the email notifications?

What I mean is that a notification is sent every time a comment is made on a thread.  The other day the “Re-interpreting the Ten” thread gave me about twenty notifications.  Would it be possible to have the kind of notification that says something like, “You will not receive any more notifications until you visit this thread”?

Because of the large volume of notifications, they’re often being automatically sorted into my junk & spam folder.  I usually rescue them from the junk folder and tell my service that they’re not spam, but the sheer frequency and volume of responses triggers the service’s spam radar, I guess.

Anyway, if it’s possible.  If it isn’t, oh well. smile

Blessings,
Ramone
