My son is going over seas

Haven’t written on here for a long time. I have a special prayer request. My son, in the Air Force, is going over seas the end of next month. He is usually gone for 3 months, but this time he will be working with the army and will be gone 6 months. Please remember him and all our military members in your prayers.

Special Prayer Thread

I thought it might be nice to have a special thread where prayer requests are expressed. There is nothing like a whole family of believers praying and lifting one another up in prayer.

I already sense and know that my wife and I have already been upheld in prayer today. Some of you are aware that my wife suffered a career ending stroke at the age of 50, just 2 1/2 years ago, and she was doing excellent until this weekend. She was admitted last night with a much smaller stroke than the last one, so we are hopeful she can recover a reasonable lifestyle. I already appreciate the many emails of support and prayer I have already received, and my heart has been encouraged. I will pass these along to Marti tonight when I go back to the hospital later. Thanks so much again for all your prayers!

I will very soon, God willing, go home to my wife after my current deployment! I praise our sovereign God for keeping us safe, and for keeping us firmly grounded in the truth of His word while we were apart. His grace to us is truly amazing, even in these temporal things. In eternal things, it is infinitely more so.

I’m not sure this is the right place to post this, but I would like to request prayer for my mom (age 88) who is struggling to realize freedom in Jesus after spending her life as an SDA. I was raised as an Adventist (third generation SDA) - attended SDA schools through college, and worked in denominational employment until my mid-forties. In the late 1980’s when our kids were teenagers, they began questioning many of the SDA beliefs - Why can’t I get my ears pierced? Where does the bible say we shouldn’t wear jewelry? Why can’t I go to the football game with my friends on Friday night? Why can’t I take ballet lessons? Why is it OK on Sabbath to wade up to my ankles, but I can’t actually dive into the water and swim? And on and on.

I became disillusioned when I found I couldn’t locate scriptural references for most of our SDA traditions and beliefs. About that same time I read a book about a young female employee who was treated inequitably by Neil Wilson and the powers-that-be at the GC (It struck a chord with me as a HR Administrator), as well as the book, The White Lie. At any rate, after some years of no church attendance anywhere (Where oh where does one go after leaving the SDA church???? After all, Sunday churches are “Satan’s ground!"), my husband and I began to study the Bible for ourselves and soon found that in good conscience we could no longer be a part of Adventism and all that it entails and stands for.

A couple of years ago my younger brother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. He just passed away this past March. My mom, sister and I were talking about my brother the other day, and we mentioned something he used to do that may not have been the best choice regarding his taxes. My brother died with a full understanding of The Gospel. But my mom became very disturbed saying, “I certainly hope he remembered to ask forgiveness for that before he died. I so want him to be in heaven!” It’s the old E.G. White thing about our biggest worry being that we had left one sin unconfessed which would keep us out of the kingdom (that one sin that Jesus DIDN’T die for on the cross, I guess - tongue in cheek).

Please pray for my mom, and all SDA’s, that the veil of misunderstanding and misinformation that we were taught can be lifted and the truth of freedom in Jesus (there is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION...") can be realized and enjoyed.

It is a blessing and a privilege to pray for those we love.

WEEKLY REMINDER FOR THE PRAYER CIRCLE.
TIME:
1. Every Friday at sundown in your time zone.
2. Saturday afternoon, 1 PM Pacific time, 4 PM East Coast time and whatever the time is in your time zone.

WHO DO WE PRAY FOR:
1. All SDAs from the GC down to the smallest church in the world.
2. All unchurched members. All the agnostics, atheists and unbelievers who are former SDAs.
3. All those who are coming under the influence of SDAs through such things as the SDA friends, Revelation Seminars and baptismal classes.
4. All Christians who think SDAs are just another Christian church.
5. All those writing on R/S, Spectrum, CARM and similar sites.
6. ESPECIALLY SDA children who are being exposed to The Clear Word for Kids, history of EGW at the early age of first grade and younger and other distinctive SDA doctrine that is not Biblical.
7. We pray for each other, that God will use us to teach others His love and about what Jesus did for each of us and that the Holy Spirit fill us.
8. Dirk Anderson and the hassle he is receiving from the White estate. That God will be glorified in what ever happens and that Adventism will be exposed for what they really teach.
9. Dale Ratzlaff’s project of contacting all SDA ministers in the SDA conference where he lives. Go Dale!! God be with you as well as our prayers.
10. Lurkers who are in the process of leaving the SDA church.
11. Those SDAs reading the the new SDA book(it does not deserve the title Bible) with EGW’s books intermixed with the Bible.
12. All those receiving Proclamation! magazine. That they will be convicted in their heart, mind and soul of the Bible truths and will search the Bible for themselves to know the truth of the Bible, God’s love letter to all of us.
13. Colleen and Richard Tinker and all who work with Life Assurance Ministries that God will protect them in all ways.
14. For the Spanish version of Proclamacion and the prayer circle, and forum.
15. The Danish former Adventists and forum.
16. Seventh day Adventist students in SDA boarding schools.
17. All those posting on 4TG that God use them to teach others.

Let us pray as a family with Jesus Christ in the midst of us and the Holy Spirit taking our prayers to the Father. We could not have it any better.
He is always so AWESOME.

FAF WEEKEND 2008

I start this thread to remind us that tomorrow the third FAF Weekend will happen. Let us pray that God may be honored at this meeting, that the meeting will bring him glory, as it is intended to be, and that formers will grow in Christ and will be enriched and strengthened in the Lord. Pray also for the opening of the spiritual eyes of the adventists present at the meeting to the glorious truth of the gospel, and also for a clear apprehension of the adventist toxic system of faith by all, adventists, and also evangelical pastors who were invited to attend.

Hi All,

Am home today after taking one of my cats to the vet. She has suddenly become badly dehydrated and her temperature is falling. She is only 5 years old or so and would be a great loss to me if she doesn’t make it.

All prayers and thoughts appreciated.
