The Definition
Merriam-Webster: The act of rising from the dead; a return to life.
FTG Expanded Explanation: In Christian theology, resurrection refers to the bodily raising of the dead by the power of God. Most centrally, it refers to the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after His crucifixion, proving His victory over sin, death, and Satan. The resurrection is foundational to the gospel and guarantees the future bodily resurrection of all believers. Christianity teaches the absolute future renewal and glorification of the body for eternal life with God for those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ.
